School House Restaurant & Tavern


Today’s School House Restaurant and Tavern is located in Sanger, CA and was originally a one room wooden school house that once was known as Frankwood School in 1890. Later, they decided to expand and added brick walls that made it an L shaped building resembling this historical monument’s structure today. It has gone through a lot as it became a western steakhouse saloon for about 30 years and then empty for almost 10 years before current ownership.

The owner and executive chef, Ryan Jackson, has stellar credentials and dedicated so much into this restaurant. His take on “New American” cuisine focuses on local, fresh ingredients which is what makes this place extra special.
